rc.local support on Arch Linux with systemd

Published: 13-01-2014 | Author: Remy van Elst | Text only version of this article

❗ This post is over ten years old. It may no longer be up to date. Opinions may have changed.

Arch Linux uses systemd. Therefore, init functions like rc.local are not supported anymore. This systemd service allows you to have support for /etc/rc.local.

Edit /usr/lib/systemd/system/rc-local.service:

[Unit]
Description=/etc/rc.local compatibility

[Service]
Type=oneshot
ExecStart=/etc/rc.local
RemainAfterExit=yes

[Install]
WantedBy=multi-user.target

Enable it:

systemctl enable rc-local.service
